Miami's Oldest Lighthouse: The Cape Florida Light on Key Biscayne | Miami History Series NEW VIDEO UP ON THE SUPER ENTHUSED YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

The Cape Florida Light at Bill Bagg's State Historic Park is on the National Register of Historic Places as Miami's oldest lighthouse, oldest standing structure, and the site of so much significant south Florida history! In today's video, I take a tour of the lighthouse, climbing 109 steps up 95 feet up to the light tower for spectacular views of Miami and Biscayne Bay, and explore the island, delving into the history of the Key Biscayne, starting with Ponce de Leon's visit in 1513! This video is a virtual collaboration with my good friend Tampa Jay, who is also releasing a video today exploring Tampa Bay's oldest lighthouse! Please check out Tampa Jay's video for a DOUBLE DOSE OF FLORIDA LIGHTHOUSE HISTORY!!! Link to Tampa Jay's video: I hope to do more collaborations like this with more of my friends!!
